150 Media Stream Gallery: Score to Christopher Andrew's "A Forest Through Time"

My score to the expansive film by Christopher Andrew entitled “A Forest Through Time” is now live at the 150 Media Stream Gallery in Chicago, IL. The film will be on continuous loop through July 2020. More information available at: https://150mediastream.com/

Experience a forest through the seasons, from spring rain to winters snow, from star filled night to the warmth of summers sun. Christopher Andrew uses long exposures and overnight time-lapses with the camera often left in places devoid of the human element for days at a time. The technology used to document the forest, as well as the complex editorial sequencing, creates images that are both awesome and foreboding. This film seeks to capture the tension between a longing for the natural world, and the ties of technology that keep us from its embrace. The soundtrack by Tablapusher speaks of the secret, haunting and majestic quality of the forest giving voice to the wind, the sky, and the trees themselves.

Christopher Andrew’s video installations and live visual performances are fueled by his original shot content, focused on reimagining the natural world. Andrew’s visual work has been showcased at major festivals world wide, including Global Gathering, Tomorrowland, Burning Man, and Art Basel. When Andrew was a high school student, he produced his own visual content, multi-media installations, and worked at Lone Wolf Pictures, an award winning documentary house. He continued his studies in film history and video art at Oberlin College, allowing Andrew to expand his digital installation process, and participate in a residency at a local venue where he performed live video works with his band. After graduating, Andrew became part of the second wave of VJ’s in Chicago, and spent years touring nationally, and then internationally, with some of the biggest artists in electronic music.
